“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.” – C.S. Lewis

Reading is my favorite pastime. I won an award in the 1st grade for reading over 200 books in the school year. I say that not to brag but to emphasize that my love of reading has been around for many years! The one thing I love to do more than read, is to share with others my love of books! I can barely contain myself when I find a new book I love; I just want to tell the world. Books, especially the inspirational variety,  teach me so much and I feel it would be a shame to keep that knowledge shut up in my head. So I'm here to share some of my favorite inspirational books with y'all! (Narrowing it down to 10 is a feat, because I love so many!)

1. Reshaping It All by Candace Cameron Bure

How could I not include a book by my favorite actress (and one of my favorite authors) in this list?! Reshaping It All is a motivational book about getting healthy, both physically and spiritually. Candace shares stories from her life along with tidbits and advice to help you get you life back on track. I think this book is full of useful inspirational information and it's a fun read!

2. Breaking Busy by Alli Worthington

Ever wondered what your purpose is in life? I know I have! This book digs deep into scientific research and biblical principles to help you discover what exactly it is that you were created to do! You will learn how to stop chasing things that leave you empty and identify power stripping lies in your mind. Don't succumb to the pressure to be everything for everyone. Read this inspirational gem and find peace!

3. The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman

I know, I know. You've already read this book or taken the test to find out what love language you have. ( I'm a Words of Affirmation and Acts of Service girl myself!) If you haven't, well, READ IT! Yes, that's a command. It's that good! However, I believe everyone should reread this book multiple times in their life. You meet new people all the time and you need to know how to best love them to have the best quality of relationship that you can. Reading this book again will help you be able to better recognize the way those you love receive love.

4. Live Original by Sadie Robertson

If your a teen you need to read this book; I even recommend it for adults as well. It's such a good, light-hearted read. Sadie talks all about her life, faith, family, and friends. She touches on subjects that affect all of us, from self- confidence to stress and future goals. I believe inspirational biographies are great ways to learn what to do and not to do with your life.

5. The Made From Scratch Life by Melissa K. Norris

This is a book by a fellow blogger, Melissa K Norris, and it's a beaut! This amazing woman lives on a 14+ acre farm in Washington with her husband and 2 children. That's not the amazing part; she raises 100% of her own meat, 75 % of her own fruit, and 50% of her own vegetables! In this book she goes into detail about how to plan, plant, and harvest for eating and preserving. How to decrease your grocery and electric bills along with how to improve your health with natural cooking and cleaning methods. I can't get enough of her recipes!

6. The Magnolia Story by Chip and Joanna Gaines

Chip and Joanna Gaines. Need I say more? Well I will for the sake of good will and those who may not have a clue who they are. ( I get it, some of you don't watch tv; I rarely do myself anymore!) Chip and Joanna Gaines are incredibly talented house flippers from my home state of Texas, Waco to be exact. In this book they discuss everything from how they met to what their life together is like now. These interesting people keep you so enthralled with their story, you won't want to put the book down!

7. Hands Free Mama by Rachel Macy Stafford

Another book by another fellow blogger, Rachel from Hands Free Mama, full of so much wisdom and truth. This book lives and breathes on the concept of stopping what your doing and focusing on what matters, the people you love. This is something I try to practice everyday; as I used to be to busy to give my undivided attention to the people I love the most. This book will show you how to free up your mind, and your hands, and give the attention your loved ones deserve. Give this inspirational book a good read and you will feel like a new mama!

8. Laugh it Up! by Candace Payne

Who didn't see Chewbacca Mom's video? I know I did! ( Super hilarious by the way, check it out here!) Candace Payne is local to me in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, So I get the opportunity to hear about her story often. Candace has had many struggles in life from extreme poverty to trauma and struggles with self-worth. She talks about these trials in her book, but she also talk about the fight she fought to choose joy in spite of her circumstances. If you want a book full of encouragement Candace Payne has you covered!

9. More Than A Hobby by David Green

Hobby Lobby. I could spend hours in that store. Maybe that's why this book was so intriguing to me. David Green, Founder of Hobby Lobby, discusses how he launched this business on $600, and grew it to the $1.3 billion per year enterprise that it is now! He gives away some of his secrets and explains the values he runs his company on that make it so successful. Use this book as a guide in your own business endeavors and I believe you will be successful!

10. Girls With Swords by Lisa Bevere

Pick up your sword and fight ladies! There are so many evils against women in the world now. From everything like prejudice, sex trafficking, racism, abuse, and even gendercide. We have enemies both physical and spiritual and we need to fight against them. Lisa gives tips and nuggets of God's truth to help you fight against your enemies!

Ugh! It was so hard choosing just 10 inspirational books to share with y'all. There are so many more I'd love to recommend. However, theses will do for now. Let me know if you decide to read one... or 10 of them!

What inspirational book is next on your reading list? I'd love to hear about it. Leave me a comment below!

With Love,

Desiree♥️
